WE AT AVFB ARE GOOD AT
AND WITH WHICH WE’LL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO HELP YOU
As soon as we have mutually agreed on a suitable recording location a plan will be made for the complete production. In preparation to the recording day(s) one or more rehearsals will be attended in other to increase efficiency during the actual takes. During the takes all focus should be on your creativity and maximal freedom to perform.
On recording day one we begin with setting up the recording area for the musicians and a seperate area for the recording engineer. Following all musicians can install their own gear after which the mike placement will be tuned for optimal results. Next will be the soundcheck to ensure that all requirements for a number of successful sessions are met. We have a maximum recording capacity of 24 parallel tracks.
With all the prepartions behind us, we can begin the recording sessions. The exact setup of the schedule and way of work during this sessions will be mutually agreed upon. For the latter the most important point of attention is to enable full focus on the musical performance, without technical presence being in the way and to create an enjoyable playing experience.
At the end of the sessions we will clear the area, pack up and ship the recording to our studio for further processing.
The multitrack recordings will be transferred to our studio computers after which the mixdown process can start. At first the right tracks per song will be assembled, cleaned up and when necessary composed from different takes for an optimal result. Next is balancing the track contents both in level and frequency in order to create a consistent and true sound image.
The goal is to honour the role of each instrument or voice in the sound image in such a way that the the song / composition is brings its message across with maximum impact.
De first mixdown of each song will be jointly listened to and judged against your expectations. Corrections will be made based on the feedback given further down the road until we all agree on the final mix.
When all the albumsongs / compositions have been finished, they will be transferred to the mastering process. During mastering the songs will be balanced in level, frequency, key etc. in order to create a consistent feel and flow of the album.
Next to that specific requirements for CD or online publishing will be met, resulting in a specific master per chosen release medium, meaning there will be a different master each for Spotify, iTunes or CD manufacturing.
The whole audio production will be handled and managed as a project during which we take care of the project management for you.
The production starts with the first agreements made. The first step will be making a project plan detailling time, place and staff for each item to be taken care of. When we jointly agree on the plan we will start executing accordingly and make sure that all involved will stick to the plan or adapt the plan when the need arises.
You will receive regular progress updates and whether or not the release date can still be met. The latter is the ultimate goal of the whole exercise. Together we will do whatever needed to realise the agreed release date. Also we will take care of all CD production steps including the formalities needed for Buma/Stemra. For us the project is not ready until you are completely satisfied.
Each video or movie production needs a professional corresponding soundtrack. We will help you to realise just that in stereo format (we do not support surround formats).
The activities needed will differ for each project like just a voice over, complete foley and sound effects or at least a good sounding musical score.
The live recorded sound on the set often is corrupted by unwanted ambient noise or less than ideal mike positioning. This will result in the need for dialoque replacement during the post production process, in which we can support you as well.
Finally we will bring all the elements of the soundtrack in sync with the image material and mixdown a soundtrack compatible with either showing in a movie theatre or publishing online.
